Why we built Feldar

Every age has had its own instruments of expression. First the clay tablets, papyrus, fountain pens, typewriters, word processors, shared documents — and each one changed what writing felt like. And none removed the human part, the judgment, the attention, and the slow work of turning thought into language.

Feldar is building the writing environment for the next era of computers and systems. For people transforming ideas and knowledge into writing, the work starts before the draft. The draft is where writing ends up, not where it begins. It starts with notes, scribbles scattered around many files, in conversations, in sources, and questions still being worked through.

But today that work is scattered across many windows. Draft here, research there, conversation somewhere in ChatGPT or Claude, source buried in a PDF, Word document, or a forgotten tab some time ago. You are usually spending more energy and time trying to rebuild context in one place than actually writing.

Feldar puts it all in one place — the draft, the research, the notes, the feedback, the conversation. No more moving context around. Our mission is to become where the world does its serious writing.
